Chapter 19

“Did you see anything?” Ronan asks.

“Yes, Jamie is still alive. And she’s being kept with other girls. I heard at least two others,” Dustin explains.

“Anything else?” Ronan presses.

“Jamie thought of the captor’s face as ‘inhuman.’” Dustin bites his lip. He might be psychic, but he doesn’t have much experience with the unnatural.

“It’s as we suspected. Something supernatural is taking girls and keeping them for some reason. Did she know what it was? Or where she was being kept?” Ronan asks, starting the car and pulling out of Jamie’s driveway.

“I didn’t see what she saw, but I know it frightened her, so much that she was afraid to make a sound. But she didn’t know what it was, or where she was. Dustin is a little frustrated, and he’s worried that he’s not doing enough, that he isn’t helping.

“It’s good that we know the women are alive and being kept together. We weren’t sure about that. And we can rule out any humans in their lives.,” Ronan says thoughtfully.
