Chapter 24

Dustin adds his own cop stories, about the police he has worked with, and the places his visions have taken him. He doesn’t brag, but Ronan already knows from what Harry e-mailed him that in a lot of the cases, the situation was only solved because of Dustin and his visions, and mostly the cases were outside of Oregon, away from home and cops like Grey must have not even looked up Dustin’s name.

Toward the end of their meal a group of teenage girls come in and are seated at a table close by. Ronan notices them giggling and looking over a lot, but Dustin doesn’t seem to notice it. When they pay their bill, one of the girls gets up and comes over. She’s good-looking, red hair, curves, too young for Ronan even if he liked women.

“Hi.” She smiles, and it’s clearly directed at Dustin.

“Hello,” Dustin says politely, but Ronan can see the lack of interest in his gaze.

“Can I give you my number?” the girl asks, twiddling with her hair.
