Karden’s smile widened. “It’s nice to meet you, Ms. Westmore,” he said.
“That’s Mrs. Westmore,” called another voice. Daniel turned to see Maddy weaving his way past Jimmy hurrying toward another table. Though not as tall as Jazz, Madison Westmore’s lumbering build and quick pace hailed his days in the Marines. Placing one hand on his wife’s shoulder, Maddy thrust the other to Karden. “Daniel doesn’t meet with many people in person. You must be special,” he said with a quick wink. Karden’s eyebrows shot up, but no comment left his lips. Daniel felt the deep blush creeping back up his recently pinched cheeks.
Maddy turned to Daniel. “Thanks for the catch on the pipe. Let us know what you need for the plumber,” he said, but Daniel was already shaking his head.
“You allowing him up there saved my shop, too,” he said. “Consider it a thank you, and an apology for forgetting to notify you.”
