Chapter 33

Days passed in a blur. Sury wore out her voice as she conversed in multiple languages to get them the needed resources. Daniel hauled his old research up from the cellar, which soon consumed the floor of the shop. A giant map unfurled across the shelves pointed out possible paths for the codex in red string, and lay coated in post-it notes with questions, dates, and names. Daniel reached out to colleagues in Ireland and Wales to explore sources across the ocean. Though he admitted it would be easier to do the research there, he knew there was no way he was stepping onto a plane with Paulo.
