Chapter 15

“Ms. Bediako, I represent the students here at the college Rose Marie Beechem attends.”

“I know all about SearchLight, sir. I’m a werewolf.”

There wasn’t even a moment of silence to show his surprise. “In that case, you’ll be aware that Ms. Beechem has an obligation to fulfill and you are interfering with her ability to complete her year of volunteering.”

Ama had to admire this person’s ability to take things in stride. “Yes, I’m fully aware. But I do not tolerate—”

“Ms. Beechem has informed me what took place between the two of you, and how she used ‘race’ instead of ‘species’ when discussing your prejudice.”

Ama scowled. “She’s getting herself into trouble.”

“With you?”

“With the damned vamps!” She regretted it the moment the words were out; she really did sound like a bigot.

The male on the other end of the line was silent for a moment, perhaps to let Ama digest just how bigoted she sounded. Then he said, “You will take her back. That’s all I called to tell you.”
