Chapter 10

“I’ll be right back, Brenton.” Zeke stands, too, and leaves the kitchen, leading Andy to the front door. “Thank you for doing this.” Zeke smiles.

“No problem. I’d do anything for you.” Andy tries to say it like he’s joking, but it comes out sounding too serious.

“Well, let me know if you find out anything,” Zeke says, opening the door, not wanting to encourage Andy on the idea of doing anything for Zeke.

“We could talk about it over dinner,” Andy suggests, taking a step out the door but not leaving.

Zeke sighs. “Andy, you know what’ll happen if we go to dinner. We’ll have a few drinks, and we’ll end up in bed.”

“And would that be so bad? The sex between us was always great,” Andy says, reaching out and brushing Zeke’s hair behind his ear.

“Sex was never our problem. We didn’t work. You know we don’t work. I don’t know why. You’re a great guy, but…I just don’t…” Zeke trails off.
