“Shouldn’t I book the hotel? Isn’t that part of a PA’s job?” Zeke asks as they start walking, ready to finish their run.
“I guess you could do it. I don’t want you doing everything for me. I mean, Jamie books hotels for the band, but she’s our manager. She does that kind of thing, always has. I’m not used to bossing someone around.” Brenton’s not sure why, but he feels bad about the idea of getting Zeke to do things for him.
Maybe it’s because he’s attracted to Zeke, and it feels like he’s using Zeke’s job to get him to be around more. He’s not. When he’d agreed to go running with Zeke, he’d been thinking about safety in numbers, and people leaving him alone more when he’s with other people.
It’d be beyond stupid to make a move on Zeke. He’s basically Jamie’s nephew. Which means Jamie would be told, and the whole band would find out.
“You said to treat hanging out with you like I’m hanging out with a friend, right?” Zeke asks.
