His eyes are a little shiny, but no tears spill. Brenton’s heart breaks for hm.
“I’m sorry, Zeke,” Andy says softly.
Zeke doesn’t answer.
The drive to the hotel is made in an uncomfortable silence. Brenton wants to do something to make Zeke feel better, but he doesn’t know what to do. He’s never been in a situation like this before. He’s been around exes before, and it can be awkward, but Andy lied about a serial killer being after Zeke, and he compared it to Zeke not telling him about being raped.
They get to the hotel, and Andy waits down in the lobby, while Zeke and Brenton go upstairs to pack. Brenton packs quickly and goes to the door joining their suites knocking on Zeke’s door.
“Who is it?” Zeke calls out.
“It’s Brenton. Can I come in?” Brenton asks.
“Yeah, okay,” Zeke says softly.
Brenton pushes open the door, taking his suitcase in with him. Zeke is packing his things.
“How are you feeling?” Brenton asks.
