Myles looked up from the paper. “He’s really smart…But kind of intimidating, too.”
“Yeah, I know. Spencer comes off as cold, but it’s like ice cold, you know? Like, if you touch ice it burns. Or something.”
Myles put his cup down. “I’m gonna take Der to his appointment and then I’m gonna go meet with my real estate agent.”
“So you’re planning on selling, huh?”
He fiddled with his glasses on the table. “I might make a small profit. I might travel…or something.” He sighed and leaned back in his seat. “Maybe go back to Japan. Maybe stay here and open a small salon. I don’t know.”
“Turning points can be exciting, too, no?”
He laughed quietly. “Yeah, for you maybe.”
“Well, listen, with everything you’ve been doing around here, I figure I owe you a salary and—”
“What!” He shot up in his seat. “Are you nuts?”
