“Okay, I’ve let you talk.” Gideon turned back to his spread, mentally running through the order of the spell. “Now get out of here.”
“Tell me if you’re going to use it.”
“What happened to going quietly, John?”
A sigh, and then a footstep. “At least have the courtesy of stopping by later and telling me how it went. Though I suppose if you don’t show, that’ll be my answer in and of itself.”
Gideon ignored him. He didn’t need more distractions than he already had. Jesse was expecting the spell to start soon.
By the time he broke and glanced over his shoulder, John was gone.
