“You could always do something about this big hole in the dimension before somebody we actually like gets killed,” Gideon snapped at her.

Michelle didn’t look away from the big hole, but she did wave her hand. Gideon spun around in time to see the broken tombstone just before it smashed into his broken ribs. Gideon growled, prepared to return the favor and chuck the same piece of stone at her head when he realized she was intoning words he didn’t understand.

He pushed himself back to his feet, his eyes golden as he swept the landscape. The others were around here somewhere. With Michelle taking care of the dimension, he could help with the actual hand-to-hand fighting. A visual scan revealed nothing, but there were heartbeats, fast and too thick to discern, coming from behind the church.
