That knowledge aroused respect for David, and possessive anger. He had to remind himself that JT wasn’t his, as much as his instincts wanted to say otherwise. Getting away from both versions wasn’t just good for them; it helped him remain calm about this entire matter.

He hung back while Dominique flitted around the kitchen with Grace, blushing every time David said something to her. Nobody had said a word about Gideon feeding. He suspected nobody would. For that, he was grateful. Until somebody brought it up, he and Jesse would keep it under wraps, though the first thing he was going to make Jesse do was get some iron tablets. He probably shouldn’t have been as excited as he was about getting to feed from Jesse exclusively—at least on a temporary basis—but Gideon couldn’t deny it was there. Thank God Jesse seemed to enjoy it as much as Gideon did.

He noticed more than once that David looked in the direction of the door, too.
