Chapter 71

Gideon closed his teeth around the base of Jesse’s knuckles, with just enough effort to pierce the skin and stain his tongue with a hint of Jesse’s blood. Jesse licked his lips, his gaze locked on Gideon’s mouth. Some things really didn’t change.

“We can go somewhere less wet and bloody,” Jesse murmured, though he didn’t make any effort to move anywhere.

Cocking a brow, Gideon slid his mouth slowly back up the fingers, drawing twin scratches along the backs at the same time. “Clearly, you didn’t wipe away all of Michelle’s spell,” he murmured. He leaned in and licked across a raw scrape on Jesse’s cheek. “Wet and bloody are two of my favorite words.”

Jesse hissed at the contact and swayed toward Gideon. “That must be it. I don’t know how I’d forget otherwise.” His arm went around Gideon’s waist and he pulled at his shirt, his hot fingers seeking out Gideon’s bare skin. “I’ve missed watching you fight.”
