Chapter 13

At Trev’s suggestion, he ordered the beer sampler, then picked out the French dip to go with it. Trev picked out a mac and cheese with mushrooms and bacon that had Jett second-guessing his own choice.

“Mind if I ask you a personal question?” Trev asked once the waitress had left to fill their drink orders.

Jett jerked his attention away from the slight pressure against his foot to focus on Trev’s piercing gaze. “Considering the bombs I’ve been dropping on you the last twenty-four hours, I would’ve thought you’d be tired of all the personal crap.”

Trev smiled. “I don’t get how it is you’re not in a relationship of some sort. You were Mr. Stability in high school. Unless you’re still living large on coming out.”

“Ha, no, it was never like that. But you know, I could ask you the same thing.”

“Tell you what. You answer me, and then I’ll answer you.”
