Chapter 25

“Ossie’s partially right.” Trev piled the dishes on the counter and began filling up the sink for them to soak. “Dominic and Malachi haven’t played anything remotely like Godless Crisis music in a long time. They need the refresher more than he does. Plus, with as far as they’re traveling for such a short period, I don’t want them to think they’re wasting their time.”

“I’d think a dying friend would be enough to make that entire point moot,” Jett said with a scowl.

“They haven’t stayed as in close contact with Ossie as I have.”

“Why are you defending them? Dominic was treating you like shit, too.”

“Because I need this to work,” Trev hissed. “The last thing I want is for Ossie to regret doing this because the gig turns into a huge embarrassment. I want him to walk off that stage feeling like the king of the world, and if that means I have to put with Dominic’s bad attitude for a few hours, then so be it.”
