Chapter 31

Trev switched to Jett’s hand once they were on the sidewalk. “Any recommendations?”

“Is my apartment too forward?”

“No, it’s too tempting.” He pointed to the steakhouse across the street. “Is that any good?”

“It’s perfect.”

No more words were exchanged until they were seated and had ordered. The longer they didn’t speak about anything real, though, the more curious Jett got. Trev seemed more fidgety than normal, constantly reaching out to touch, seemingly fascinated by the other patrons and their surroundings. Without anything else to distract them, Jett leaned forward and caught his eye.

“Are you going to tell me what this is really about, or are we just going to flirt and eat lunch?”

His smile was embarrassed, his gaze almost shy. “You don’t like the idea of flirting?”

“I love it. But I don’t think that’s what you had in mind.”
