“You okay?” Nash touched his shoulder.

“Funny, you ask if I’m okay now, but attacking me in my home, chasing me an entire night, and knocking me unconscious is nothing to worry about, is it.”

Nash frowned. It wasn’t what had happened. “I wasn’t attacking—”

“Look.” Arlo stood, shaking Nash’s hand off his shoulder, and glared at him. Nash curled his fingers into a fist to prevent himself from reaching for him again.

He needed to, had to touch, but Arlo stepped away. “I don’t know what’s going on, okay? You don’t need to fear me telling anyone what you are or what Gilbert is, and I guess you’ve figured out I’m not normal either, so let’s leave it at that, yeah?”

Nash opened his mouth to respond, but Arlo held up a finger. “I have to leave. I can’t be around someone I’ve healed, and I healed you. I didn’t mean to.” He snorted. “But it sort of happened when I healed myself.”
