“But…” Nash’s eyes didn’t stray from his, “…is it possible for you to send more than emotions?”
More?Arlo wasn’t sure he understood the question.
“You sent Ellis’ pain through to me, right?”
“I guess.” He’d sent the blackness, but he hadn’t meant to, and he hadn’t meant to cause Nash any pain.
“Could you send healing through me too?”
Arlo shook his head. It was a good idea, but he instinctually knew it wouldn’t work. “I don’t send healing, I take pain and sickness away. It’s backward, instead of giving, I’m taking.”
Nash’s shoulders slumped, and a wave of grief so strong Arlo had to suck in a breath washed over him.
“Let’s go to them and see how bad it is.” Arlo did what he could to rebuild his shields. His hands shook, he didn’t want to face Gilbert, but he couldn’t leave Nash to tackle the grief on his own.
