Chapter 12

“If you can’t fucking behave, you’re better off hiding in the office.” Her hiss didn’t carry nearly as far as the sound of his shattered plate had, and yet every customer in the coffee shop turned their way.

“I would, but there are too many people here.”

She huffed. “Not for long.” Then she smiled at a couple walking in through the door and heading their way. Bjorn groaned when they gazed lovingly into each other’s eyes.

“We need to put out a new ad. Only idiots applied.”

Madison kept her smile in place. “No, we don’t. If you stop snarling at everyone showing an interest, I’m sure we can find someone.”

Bjorn glared before heading for the office. He’d take five minutes—five minutes away from babbling, happy people.
