He orders two coffees to go, and it isn’t until he’s going to leave the shop that he realizes the man in the corner reading a book is none other than Jayden. It seems rude not to stop, to pretend he hasn’t seen Jayden, so he heads over. Maybe he’ll get his wish and find out Jayden is a complete and utter dick, seeing as no one is at their best in the morning.
“Hi, Eli still in bed?” Jayden asks as Chogan drops into a seat opposite him. His smile is something else. Charming, almost sweet.
“Yeah. I left him sleeping. Needed my coffee fix. I guess you did, too.” Chogan gestures to the mug on the table between them.
“Oh, no, it’s decaf herbal tea. I don’t drink much caffeine,” Jayden says, putting his book down. The title looks French, which Chogan doesn’t speak, so he has no idea what kind of book it is.
He’s also shocked. He doesn’t think he’s ever met a hunter that didn’t mainline caffeine.
