“Well, thanks. Not everyone sees things that way. I’m glad that you do.” Jayden would hate to work with someone who thought of him as little more than a monster. Jayden has enough trouble sometimes accepting what he is, himself, without the judgment of others.
“You’re welcome. So Eli and I noticed Professor Blum running out of the building toward your car.” Chogan raises an eyebrow.
“He wanted to talk.” Jayden shrugs.
“Did he remember something that could help us?” Chogan asks, but his tone makes it clear that he already doesn’t believe that Ricky wanted to talk about ghosts or Bigfoot.
“He asked if I’d be free to talk some more while I’m in town,” Jayden says, refusing to just come out and say Ricky asked him on a date.
“So, Eli was right? The professor is hot for you?” Chogan asks with a teasing smile. It makes his face light up, handsome and boyish, less serious. He really is a breathtaking man.
“Ugh, I’m not having this conversation.” Jayden groans.
