“So, where else could we check out?” Chogan asks.
Jayden starts to answer, but remembers his decision not to talk to Chogan only seconds ago, and doesn’t say anything.
“Well, that’s really mature.” Chogan snorts.
Jayden’s is aware he’s not being very adult, but he doesn’t know what to say or how to act around Chogan. His head is too full.
“Fine, we won’t talk.” Chogan shakes his head, and they walk back to the motel in silence.
Eli lets them into the motel room with a smile and takes the coffees from Chogan. They all go into the room, and Eli hands Joshua a coffee.
“Hear anything?” Joshua asks.
“Not from the guy we asked, but we’ll head back out in a bit. Maybe drive to a few places,” Chogan says, and Jayden’s back to wanting to punch him.
If he says anything about not going, it’ll raise questions he doesn’t want to answer.
“Anywhere you think we should go?” Jayden asks Joshua instead.
