“No, sorry. I can’t.” Jayden says.
“Writing keeping you that busy?” Ricky asks skeptically.
“I’m seeing someone,” Jayden says, surprising Elijah.
“Oh, you didn’t say that before.” Ricky frowns.
“It’s new, kind of took me by surprise, in a way,” Jayden explains, and Elijah wants to kiss him again.
“Well, um, good luck with that.” Ricky doesn’t just sound disappointed. He looks a little pissed off.
“You probably have to get to class,” Chogan says, tone pleasant, but he might as well be telling Ricky to fuck off.
“I, yes.” Ricky turns on his heel and leaves, his gait angry.
“Someone doesn’t take rejection well,” Elijah says.
“Be nice, Eli. You don’t have to get all dominant and stake a claim. I’ve told him I’m not interested. Relax.” Jayden shakes his head.
“So I don’t like him hitting on you. Sue me.” Elijah shrugs. He hadn’t liked the way Ricky looked at Jayden right from their first meeting with him. He’d tried to laugh it off, but it hadn’t made him feel better.
