Chapter 16

He barely felt the fangs retract, or the soft glide of Gideon’s tongue over the new puncture wounds. He did, however, hear his whispered words, like silk wrapped around his body and drawn tight.

“I’m never going to let you go, Jess. I need you too much.”

Jesse rested his forehead on Gideon’s shoulder and took a deep, shuddering breath. He understood need.He understood it very well. “Good. You won’t ever have to let me go. I’m yours.”

Gideon chuckled. “Does that mean I get to carry you to the shower, too?”

“Yes, that’s exactly what it means.”

Jesse turned his head and pressed a soft kiss to Gideon’s neck as Gideon stepped from the wall and turned to the bathroom. He had the feeling by the time Gideon carried him out of the shower, he would be ready to pass out. After a good night’s sleep, they’d both be better prepared to do whatever necessary to find the arsonist.4
