“You don’t have any dates lined up?”
Luke laughed. Maybe people lined dates up weeks in advance when Bruce had been young, but no one lived that way now. “Yeah, no.”
“Well, that’s good. You need to be focusing on school. Once you’re established in a career you can think about dating and marriage, but for now you have more important things to think about.”
“Of course, sir. It hasn’t even crossed my mind.” Uncle Bruce knew about hookup apps, of course. He’d seen them on Luke’s phone, the last time they’d gotten together. He’d given his tacit approval, provided Luke didn’t get “caught up” in anything.
“Good man. You’ll go far.” Bruce cleared his throat. “I’ll send you a calendar invite once my schedule’s a little more nailed down.”
“Sounds good, sir.” Luke sat up a little straighter and waited for the tell-tale beep that would signal the end of the call.
