Chapter 12

“So, why are you really here?”

“I told you—”

“The truth, please.”

Galen sighed, and Dion glanced up at the cupid in surprise. It was obvious to him something must be bothering Galen at the moment. Then he listened patiently when Galen started to tell him about the ancient demon and the rest of the information the angel had acquired from Odon.

“That’s all I have for now,” Galen concluded several minutes later.

Dion stopped working on the body as he gazed into Galen’s eyes. “I don’t know what you want me to say. I really am nothing special aside from my ability to commune with the spirits and…uh, well, you, I guess. The other angels don’t seem to be very interested in communicating with me.”

“I see…” Galen trailed off, and he frowned much harder now. “By the way, I overheard most of your conversation with Joshua.”

“Joshua?”

“The old man you chatted with earlier.”

“Oh, right. What about it?”

“I was the one who got Joshua and Beth together all those years ago.”
