Chapter 30

He was aware that Galen was a cupid, and that might explain why he managed to be himself whenever he was around the angel. He didn’t have to pretend to be what he was not. However, he was certain there was something more between him and Galen. There was a spark between them that he never had with anyone else, but most importantly, Galen never judged or looked at him differently. Galen talked to and treated him as if he was the same as any other humans. He enjoyed that very much. As he snuggled even closer to Galen, he could smell the distinct fragrance of peace lilies, chrysanthemums, and orchids all around the cupid. Those flowers were generally associated with the dead, but Dion thought the combined scent seemed to work really well on Galen. He shut his eyes as he inhaled and exhaled slowly, allowing the cupid’s wonderful aroma to lull him into dreamland and knowing that he was safe in the arms of the angel.9

“You’re very powerful for a cupid. The demon is badly injured.”
