Chapter 16

When the sky began lightening, Harun started looking for a good place to stop. He was exhausted. He’d been getting far too little sleep this whole time, and yesterday’s brief nap certainly hadn’t been adequate. Not to mention the exertion of all this running, and last night’s adrenaline rush. No doubt Kelwyn could use some rest too. Also, they should probably talk. As far as he knew this was the first time Kelwyn had ever killed anyone. That kind of thing usually needed some working through, not to mention what else might have happened while he’d been held captive.

Harun tried not to shy away from that thought too much. The obviously sexual nature of the vampire’s interest in Kelwyn made him worry about what might have happened, but he couldn’t go back in time and prevent it, he could only try as best he could to help Kelwyn deal with whatever had been done to him.
