Surely he could keep this merely a friendship, and not let his heart become any more entangled than that. One voice inside him said that it was folly to think that even possible, that if he kept spending time with Kelwyn, eventually his self-control would fail, and he’d venture some intimate gesture that couldn’t be misconstrued. He’d already come far too close to that when he’d sung “For His Blue Eyes” at Kelwyn’s welcoming party. He knew Kelwyn had noticed it, too. Some other such foolishness was bound to happen soon.
