Chapter 36

“You live there a while,” Janey began.

“In the guest room,” James said. “At least until you can convince him to let you stay in the master.”

“What did you do to win him over the first time, back in college?” Janey asked.

“I walked around in a towel in front of him a lot,” Jason said. “We played football together.”

“Okay, that has potential,” James said. “Although, I hope my roommate isn’t getting any ideas.”

“You would know,” Jason assured him. “Looking back, your father and I were not subtle.”

“So, what won him over in the end?” Janey asked.

“We came home for Thanksgiving. We had a lot to drink, and suddenly I woke up one morning and he was holding me. Looking back, I think it may have been an accident, but I didn’t think so at the time, and so I went for it. Your grandparents and I took him to Great Falls the next day. I think that sealed the deal.”

“I guess so,” James said. “So maybe go visit Grandma and Grandpa in Florida. Perhaps they can take you sightseeing.”
