“So, Howard, about what you said last night. We’re still going to the barbeque next weekend, right? The one at Marjorie and Gene’s?”

“Definitely. I told you I would go, and I will,” Howard said. “Anyway, we might be able to strum up some other business besides them while we’re there.”

“Well, do you think we could make it a date? I mean a real date, not just two business associates, but you know, two guys going out together. Could we do that, Howard?”

Howard looked at him with a surprised look on his face, a question, but suddenly, it turned into a smile.

“Absolutely,” Howard said. “I would be proud to be your date.”18: A Day at the Office

Howard rose early Monday morning and quickly dressed. When he came downstairs Jason had made coffee, and omelets. He was sautéing some tomatoes on the stove when Howard entered the kitchen

“I remembered you loved these,” Jason said, pushing the tomatoes back and forth in olive oil with a spatula, and then lightly salting them.
