“Hurry up.” She looked as giddy as a child on Christmas Eve. “You aren’t going to make me late to a meeting of the Shade speakers. May they guide us; I think we are going to need their help on this one.”

A meeting of the Shade speakers was a rare occurrence. Normally, Andrea just followed the old hag around when there was a need for someone to take notes. It was technically the old hag’s job, but her handwriting was something between a mix of hieroglyphics and Morse code. Andrea would have to translate it anyway, so it was just easier for her to be the note taker and let the old hag enjoy the privilege of being included in a meeting of the ruling Amazons. They consulted with the Shades that protected an area that spanned from Bangor north to the border with Canada and west to New Hampshire.
