“I did it.” Her smile now reached from one ear to the other. She threw her arms around Josh and kissed his cheek. “I’m an Amazon now. Thank you.”
“I think I’m the one who should be thanking you.” Josh was suddenly glad to be friends with this erratic Amazon. If it weren’t for her, the pack would have fallen to Lukar’s influence
“We’d better get going; I’ve got so much to do before leaving for the council.” Andrea let go of him. “I’ve got to pack and get ready. I’ve never been to the council before. My mother was a member. Did I ever tell you that?”
“No.” Josh had a sneaking suspicion that there was a lot he didn’t know about Andrea.
Andrea looked off into the distance, no doubt at the Shade of her mother. “I think she would be proud of me.”
“I know she would be.”
“I can’t see her anymore, or Ned,” Andrea said softly. “They have crossed through the Gate and will never return. Then again, Lukar was supposed to be on the other side, and he came back.”
