Bianca grinned. “Not when I’m wearing this. It’s a magic-suppressor. And since I’m only one-quarter dragon, it’s able to mask my blood quite well. I have a touch of their occasional telepathy, thanks to my very powerful mother’s bloodline.”

Renée wondered how long she could keep Bianca talking and not shooting. She lifted her gaze from the gun at last and met Bianca’s furious eyes. “Why are you so angry with me?” She fell back on what Jenny had said. “I got it wrong. The dragons aren’t slipping different people into bloodlines all over the world.”

“You really thought…Well, we’re powerful, but that’s beyond us. At least so far.”

“Then why did I come across Firos William’s mate in the files? Saying she was ‘influenced’ by dragons?”
