Chapter 15

“Okay. I won’t. I’ll say this, inappropriate or not; I don’t look like either one of you. I don’t look like Liam Hemsworth, or the other Hemsworth, or the one after that. I look like Snow White’s ninth dwarf Ethnically Ambiguous Stumpy.”

“No.”

Dominic raised a finger. “Yes. But you know what?” He lowered his voice, speaking barely above a whisper, now. “I have sex all the time.”

“What did he say?” Finn asked.

“He has sex all the time.”

“Now, everyone knows.” Dominic’s scowl was so comical, it made me smile, Finn, too, I would have bet. “Men love me,” Dominic said. “Women love me. I don’t even remember the last person who rejected me. I remember the first…because that was a heartbreaker, but that wasn’t sex. That was unrequited love. If we conflate the two, well, that’s a whole other conversation, isn’t it?”

“I haven’t really been down that road,” I admitted. “The love thing, except in fantasies and daydreams.”

“That’s the only place it works.” Finn had been hurt.
