Chapter 31

“I love you,” I said. “I love you more than anything, more than anyone—my head is crazy inside. I’m either going to have to love you or just go mad. There doesn’t seem to be any in-between.”

“Boss?”

“Yeah?”

“I love you, too. Why don’t we go shopping?”

“I need to do something first,” I said.

“What?”

“I need to kiss you.”

He did not protest when I pushed my lips against his. There were windows in my office and anyone standing outside could have seen us—but I did not care. He put his arms around me, pulled me to himself, rubbed his hardness against my own.

“Do we have time to run upstairs to your bedroom for a minute?” he asked, pulling away.

I needed no further prompting.
