Colby had him. Colby had friends. Jason had friends, and family. Those were all Colby’s now too; Colby, Jason swore to steak-pie crumbs and a half-empty pint of beer, would never feel alone or unloved or unwanted ever again. He’d make sure of that. They all would.

The pie crumbs agreed. Friends, good food, and comfort.

They could both have that. They could have this.
