Zach left the girls sitting at a small white table already set with little dishes and animal crackers. In the teapot was milk with weak tea. Zach smiled thinking of the pale blonde and raven heads close together planning their party. Jason sat at the kitchen table making a grocery list. “I can see what you mean about an old house. I think this place was built when they first started using sheetrock. They plastered over it because they didn’t trust it,” Zach said examining the walls.

“Yeah, try to get a nail in the wall without the plaster coming down on your head. The walls aren’t properly insulated either. You have to turn up the heat pretty high in the winter and then it gets too hot to sleep upstairs. I know this place should have two zone heating, but I don’t have the funds.”

“Looks like they carpeted over hardwood floors in here,” Zach said as they walked from the living to the dining room and into the kitchen.”
