“Shut up, Bobby,” Jason told him.
“How about you call Zach Poppa and me Daddy, we won’t forget about Ann and Dad but they’re gone and I think this makes things easier for school.”
“It would be even better if we officially adopted Kitty. I know you’re her guardian, but being her Dad is more permanent. No one can think of taking her away from us after that even if some long lost relatives show up. And we could all have the same last name.” Jason shot him a look. “Hey.” Zach put up his hands. “I’m not opposed to Montgomery-Monroe or Monroe-Montgomery.”
“So when’s the wedding?” Keith asked.
“We have to get this house cleaned out and gutted. We’ll need to put the furniture in storage until we decide what we want to keep. That couch is going though. I feel like I slept on a picket fence.”
“That was probably Jason’s boney ass,” Bobby said. Keith cracked up. Even Mrs. Schwartz smiled.
“You said ass,Uncle Bobby. That’s not nice,” Kitty scolded.
