“It’s bad enough that she had a ruptured appendix, but what that doctor did to her was unforgivable.” Jason was angry. An emotion he seldom expressed.

Mrs. Schwartz was incensed. “Jason, you need to get hold of that friend of yours with the law professor, I used to be a nurse and we were very protective of our doctors, but this is unacceptable. I have no idea how he could screw this up in such a manner unless he was drunk or high.” Jason nodded his head not trusting himself to speak. “Why don’t you go downstairs and make us all some coffee. Your grinder and special beans are on the counter with that complicated new coffee maker. I’ll tend to Kitty.”

Zach gave Kitty a kiss and Mrs. Schwartz said, “Come on, Miss Kitty. Let’s change your dressing and put on your new nightgown, then you can take a nap. I’ll leave the remote control for your television on the nightstand. When you wake up you can turn on your cartoons.”
