Chapter 50

“There’s something else, my parents threw me out.” Their voices started to rumble.

“They didn’t steal your money, did they?” Bert asked.

“Don’t worry, they can’t get at my trust fund, that’s ironclad. Grandfather and Bobby’s dad made sure of that. Grandfather was the only one who knew I was gay.”

“Dad never told me. He was protective of his client’s privacy.”

“Yes, he was,” Reggie continued. “Guys, I need a place to stay. I stayed at Bobby’s a few nights, but I’ve been sleeping in the car since I left Bobby’s after the funeral,” Reggie said embarrassed.

“I thought you were staying at the house,” Bobby said.

“I did until after the funeral, after that it wasn’t necessary and I didn’t want to impose.”

“Why didn’t you get yourself a place?” Bert regarded Reggie quizzically.
