Chapter 40

“The insurance paid the bartenders. How could they be angry with you when they got a month off with pay?”

“Don’t tell me you’ve been obsessing about this and not telling me for a month now?” Reggie scolded Mark.

“When something is bothering you like that, ask about it. We’re not only your employers, we’re your friends. Bobby adores you and Jason is ecstatic that Bobby is back to normal, in part because of you. Anything you need, you ask. You’re family.” Keith finished his drink and walked away to patrol the club.

Mark stood in front of Reggie shaking his head. “All of you are certifiable. I got you shot and you love me. Zach and Keith’s club was vandalized because of me and they’re grateful. This is crazy.”

“No, baby, this is what it’s like to be part of a family.”

Reggie ran his thumb under Mark’s eye. “Don’t cry, there is nothing to cry about.”
