Gary's Choice

Gary bristled. “I don’t want to take advantage of Danny. I want to take care of him.”


“Sit down, please.” Gary sat in one of the club chairs in front of Reed’s desk.


“I just want to make sure you know what taking care of Danny entails. You know he only has an efficiency apartment with a single bed? You’d have to provide him with a place to live since he can’t live with you or maintain his job while under contract. Do you have a place to put him?”


“I thought we’d get the contract out of the way first,” Gary told Bear as he made himself comfortable. Bear moved past Gary to sit in the other vacant chair.
