Chapter 15

They stayed at the top of the mountain until it was too cold to tolerate, and Dane insisted they needed to go home. Guy had protested, but not too strenuously. He still stared out the window, like he was afraid to miss a second of the night’s light show. He even insisted on keeping the sunroof open, though Dane thought it was much too chilly for that. He could sense Guy’s disappointment as they descended from the mountain, and it was almost palpable by the time they reached the city again.

“How can I even stand to live down here?” Guy asked.

“You tolerate a lot for school.”

“Business school? It’s hard to imagine anybody is really passionate about business school.”

“I think you’ve got larger plans than just business school.”

“Like what?”
