Chapter 22

Guy tried to pull the plastic from the pictures, but his fingers were shaking too hard. How could this be possible? What could it mean?

It wasn’t the only picture. There were dozens. Page after page of Dane. And him. The two of them together. The two of them smiling together. The two of them laughing together. The two of them kissing. They both looked younger, though the dates on the bottom of the pictures indicated they were only a year or two old. But Dane’s smile was easier, and it reached his eyes in the photos.

“Oh, my God. Oh, my God.”

His fingers were still shaking. He was shaking everywhere. If he and Dane had known each other before, if they had been in an actual relationship, why hadn’t Dane ever said anything? Why had he allowed Guy to believe they were strangers? Why had he acted like it was the end of the world if they slept together?

Why had Dane lied?
