Chapter 21

It would be easier to be alone with his memories. Because then he’d have something to keep him company. But now he only had the memories of Dane. And he could still feel Dane’s touch, and his mouth, and the weight of his body. It was hardly fair. He’d lost his whole life, but he was quite certain he would never forget the way Dane had held him the night before.

Did Dane think he would let him go without a fight? Without a single phone call? He was going to get his explanation, and his confrontation. If only for something to do, because he felt completely adrift. It would pass the time.

Could Dane change his mind? How much would it take for him to realize he had made a mistake? Guy wasn’t keen on confrontation, which made him wonder if that had always been the case. Maybe the man he used to be enjoyed confrontation. Maybe the man he used to be was aggressive and didn’t take shit from anybody. Maybe he used to be the sort of man that Dane would never walk out on.
