“Not on your own, Nick,” he warned.
Nick growled and tried to pull away, but Jamie wrapped his arms around him. Nick tried to jerk out of his embrace, to no avail.
“Goddammit, Jamie! That’s my sister! I’m not going to stay here with my thumb up my ass while that bastard kills her!”
“And you’re not going alone.” Jamie grimaced as Nick dug his elbow into his stomach, but he still held on. “Just wait for all of us to get prepared and then we’ll go. You’re not heading in there without backup.”
“But they said…”
“Think like a soldier, Sergeant.” Jamie let go of Nick and spun him around, grabbing his head in his hands. “Look at me. Think like this is an extraction. What’s the guarantee you and Kathy come out of this alive? What’s to say this isn’t a trap?”
“I know it’s a trap.” Nick glared at him. “And like you said, I’m a soldier. I’ve done this before. I can handle guns and I can protect myself and my sister.”
