“Okay, I’m back,” Lisa’s voice returned in the earbud. “So, you’ve met this white woman that’s a bit older, has a kid, and kisses like no tomorrow, and you’re going on a date with her. Am I all caught up?”
“Um, mostly, yeah. I just wanted to know, like, is it crazy to be feeling like I’m in the middle of some romance movie where everything seems bigger and more important than real life?”
“Maybe, but if it is, will that be the only thing about you that’s a little off?” Ahh, yes, the familiar sibling treatment. Nothing made Andrea feel more normal and mundane than being teased by her big sister.

Their first official date was the next weekend. Liz hadn’t really thought about how she would explain this to Lucas until she mentioned on the way home from summer camp that her best friend Gabriel would be staying with him for the evening while she went out to dinner with Andrea.
