“Yes, doctor.” Mike looked at him, lifting an eyebrow. “How come you’re here anyway? Aren’t visiting hours over?”

“Yeah. Well…” Sage pointed to the closet. “I hear anyone at the door, I’m in there like a flash. I wasn’t about to have you wake up and not have someone here who gives a damn about you.” He flushed bright red. “I mean…”

Mike smiled. “I know what you meant, and thanks.”

“We should all leave, now that we know for sure Mike’s going to be okay,” Jon said.

“I’m not leaving until he’s released. He’ll need a ride home,” Sage said firmly.

“Since that’s not happening until tomorrow,” Brody commented.

“Don’t argue with me,” Sage replied. “That’s how it’s going to be, even if I have to sleep on the waiting room sofa.”

“I take it the ghostie boys are debating with you about leaving, Sage,” Mike said, his lips quirking up in a small grin.

“Ghostie boys?” Brody, Jon, and Sage said in unison.
