“Okay, let’s start with the costume crew,” Mike said. “We can do it in the shop.”
We traipsed back there.
“If I were alive, I’d be getting my exercise,” I grumbled.
“We all would,” Brody agreed.
Sage laughed. “Instead, you’re leaving it to Mike and me.” He had to tell Mike why he’d said that, getting a brief smile from his partner.
When they got to the costume shop, Mike asked Nina if she had an office he could use for interviewing her seamstresses. She did, showed them into it, and then suggested he start with her, “So they know you’re harmless,” she said with a grin. “They’re sort of worried you might think one of them killed Tonio.” Her expression saddened when she mentioned my name.
“At the moment I don’t have any suspects,” Mike replied. “I’m more interested in finding out where everyone was when Mr. Burton was killed, and if anyone saw anything out of the ordinary.”
